Thoughts from the Christian worldview on philosophy, theology, religion, ethics and contemporary culture; and testing those thoughts, so that what may emerge may be refined as gold from the crucible.

Same here. ;)
Agreed. I have seen people, including my children, actually express astonishment at not being believed when they are, in fact, telling a lie. If they feel as though they are undetected in their lie, they may even file accusations and attempt to gain the moral high ground.
I have also faced people trying to argue a point (again, including my children), and as it becomes more and more clear that their case is falling apart, instead of conceding they will argue all the harder and louder and appeal to increasingly more absurd justifications.
And I have seen similar things in myself.
